| Sherman Campbell | (Fiddle) | lives in Davidson, NC, and has been playing fiddle since the early 1970s. He joined Davidson Express in the fall of 2006, having met Cameron at Pat’s Coffee Shop. |
| David Conner | (Banjo/Vocals) | is originally from Cary, NC, and has been steeped in bluegrass, old time, and country music since birth. The son of a fiddler, David started learning to play banjo at 9 and can play all the old fiddle tunes without prompting. Back in 2001 the trio of the Schoolhouse String Band (Conner, Wertheimer, and Swallow) formed around his bluegrass banjo sound which remains essential to the five-piece Davidson Express. |
| Tony Hoover | (Mandolin/Vocals) | grew up in Iredell County surrounded by gospel harmony, and he has been singing in public since the age of six. He taught himself to play guitar as a teenager and only picked up mandolin in the mid-nineties. He has been married to Mary Jane for 36 years; they have two children and three grandchildren. He is in gourmet food sales in the Lake Norman area. |
| Cameron Swallow | (Guitar/Vocals) | grew up playing piano and singing in Tennessee. Discovering that guitars are more portable than pianos, she began attending bluegrass jam sessions at Pat’s Coffee Shop in Mooresville, learning the words to songs that had been background music in her childhood, and meeting great musicians like Sherman and Tony. She also learned how to hold a flat pick. |
| John Wertheimer | (Bass/Vocals/Original Material) | is a Gemini who enjoys long strolls on the beach, soft sunsets, and comfortable footwear. Although he has played many different styles of music on many different instruments, he now enjoys playing the bass with—and writing songs for—Davidson Express. Every now and then, when lugging his bass around, however, he laments not having taken up the piccolo. |
